This is a weekly bulletin from the Aghaviller Parish covering Hugginstown, Newmarket, and Stoneyford, Ireland, for the last week of November 2023. It provides information on the priests in the community, the mass timings, planned activities, prayers for the deceased, financial contributions, community updates, and Bible readings. The week highlights the Feast of “Our Lord Jesus Christ, King of the Universe” and “Feast of St. Fergal and St. Andrew”.
Stoneyford Retirement Group’s visit to Dublin’s Gaiety Theatre to watch “The Valley of the Squinting Windows” was a thought-provoking experience. Set in early 20th century Ireland during World War I, the play’s excellent production and hard-hitting theme captivated the audience. Reflecting on its impact, one can’t help but wonder how the original book was received upon its publication.
The Fit Club has started its winter season with sessions every Wednesday at Stoneyford Community Hall. The Stoneyford Active Retirement Group offers various activities and games, while the Parish Social Club will meet on November 14 for a commemorative mass. Lotto draw numbers for Aghaviller Parish and Carrickshock G.A.A. have been announced with no jackpot winners. Meanwhile, Kilkenny’s new library, located in the old Mayfair Ballroom, offers advanced facilities and free membership registration.
