Meeting of Stoneyford Active Retirement Group (S.A.R.G.)

1. Carole welcomed members in attendance, with a special mention to our new members.
2. The meeting commenced with an update on activities in Stoneyford by Adele Walsh, Chairperson of SDA.
3. Members present & apologies.
4. Minutes of the January meeting were read and signed by the chairperson.
5. Jackie contacted the Presidents office regarding the possibility of attending a tea party. She received an acknowledgement.
6. Treasure’s Report – €1,718.50 (Membership Fees, €1,141.30, Activities Fund, €557.20), Petty Cash – €13.25.
7. The South East AGM will be held in the Greenway Manor Hotel in Waterford, registration is at 10.30. Jackie, Conchubhar and Carole will attend.
8. Computer classes every Tuesday @10.00. Free.
9. Yoga every Tuesday, Floor @ 11.00, Chair @ 12.00. €35.00 for the spring term.
10. Short Mat Bowls at 10.30 on Wednesdays. €4.00 for hall rental.
11. Bowling every Thursday in Kilkenny @ 11.30. €7.00, which includes refreshments.
12. Cards at 2.30 every Thursday. €4.00 for hall rental, plus €2.00 to play.
13. We had a very enjoyable lunch in the Hoban Hotel.
14. On the 19th of February, we will have a day trip to Waterford Museums, departing the Community Centre at 9 o clock. Jackie collected themoney. If anyone else wants to go, they can purchase the ticket on the day.
15. On the 28th of March, it is proposed to have a day trip to Johnstown Castle and a number of members are interested. The bus has been provisionally booked for that date. Margaret to send details to members who were not at the meeting.
16. Jackie has organised a trip to the Gaiety Theatre to see “From a Low and Quiet Sea” by Donal Ryan.
17. It is hoped to have a river cruise, possibly on the River Barrow (New Ross to Waterford return, with Lunch in Waterford) sometime in June.
To come back to this at a later date.
18. Next meeting 5th March 2025 @ 2.30.
