Scoil Chiaráin Naofa, also known as St. Ciaran’s National School, is celebrating its 75th anniversary this year. Established in 1948, the school has been a pillar of education and community in the area.

Over the past seven and a half decades, Scoil Chiaráin Naofa has nurtured and educated countless students, shaping their minds and preparing them for the future. It has provided a strong foundation for academic excellence, as well as fostering personal growth and character development.

Throughout its history, the school has adapted to changes in education, adopting innovative teaching methods and embracing new technologies. It has also maintained a strong emphasis on community involvement, encouraging students to be active citizens and promoting social responsibility.

To celebrate this important milestone, Scoil Chiaráin Naofa has planned a series of events and activities throughout the year. These include alumni gatherings, exhibitions of students’ work, sports events, and a special anniversary ceremony.

The school remains committed to its mission of providing quality education and creating a nurturing environment for students to thrive. As it looks towards the future, Scoil Chiaráin Naofa will continue to uphold its reputation as a center of excellence, ensuring that each student reaches their full potential.

December 3rd. sees the return of Stoneyford’s Christmas Fair, between 12.00Noon and 5.00p.m. 

There will be :

  • lots of local crafters selling beautiful Christmas decorations and
  • cards:
  • local food businesses selling mouth watering treats,
  • as well as a cafe,
  • outdoor barbecue and fish chowder food van!
  • There will be kids’ crafts upstairs and we are even expecting a visit from the man himself,
  • Santa!  It will be a day out for all the family, with something for everyone and
  • will finish with the turning on of the Christmas tree lights. Don’t miss it.

The Stoneyford Text Alert is a communication system in place for the Stoneyford community. It allows residents to receive important alerts and updates via text messages. The purpose of this service is to enhance community safety by providing timely information about potential threats or incidents. Residents can sign up for the Stoneyford Text Alert and stay informed about local events, road closures, suspicious activities, or any other relevant news that may impact the community.

An Gardai will give a talk to the communities of Stoneyford and Danesfort on matters relating to crime prevention, safety & security in the home, etc. A representative from Family Carers Ireland will also be in attendance and she will speak to us about Senior alarms. The talk will be given in Danesfort Community Centre on Tuesday, 28th. November at 8.00p.m.  Everyone is welcome to attend.

Fit Club: 

The Fit Club has begun its winter season. The session under Mr. Séamus Nugent will continue every Wednesday night from 7. pm to 8 pm in Stoneyford Community Hall. All are welcome, young and old male and female. the cost is €7 per session on the night. Wear suitable clothes and shoes. Bring a Mat for floor exercises, and have fun.

Stoneyford Active Retirement Group:

SARG is a very active, vibrant group of retirees who participate in a range of activities.

  1. If you like a game of 110 or 25’s feel free to join in as we have a game in the Community Hall @ 2.30 pm on Thursday of November
  2. Bowls: Wednesdays 10.30 to 12.30, all are welcome why not give it a try?
