Meeting of Stoneyford Text Alert Group

Date: 23^rd February 2023 in Community Centre, Stoneyford

(Eir Code R95 FCV9).

Present: Miriam Dowling, Margaret Hogan, Joseph Whyte, Conchubhar & Jackie de Róiste (5)

The meeting was opened at 19.30 and was chaired by Miriam Dowling.

• Minutes of the October 2022 meeting were read and agreed.
• Treasurer’s Report – opening balance (1^st August) €127.47, income €978.00, expenditure €241.77, closing balance (23^rd February) €863.70.
• Whilst an application was made in respect of the Community Text Alert Cost Rebate Scheme, no response was received.  Margaret confirmed that she had contacted Muintir na Tire in the past few days, seeking an update, but has yet to receive a response.
• There are 98 subscribers of Stoneyford Text Alert group.
• Community Alert subscriptions to Pinpoint are due to be paid before 11^th March.  It was agreed to renew subscriptions for 6 months to bring it into line with the AGM, which is due to be held in August.
• We have 2,591 prepaid credits, so there is no need to purchase any more.

Fit Club: 

Fit Club every, Wednesday in the Main hall, Stoneyford Community Centre @ 19.00hrs. All welcome.

Bowls:

Short Mat Bowls in Stoneyford Community Centre @ 2.30 every Wednesday . This is a great game that everyone, young, old, male or female can participate in. Please feel free to call in to see for yourself, o even betterr to give the game a try.

Stoneyford Active Retirement Group:

Art Classes: Classes have begun in the hall every Wednesday 10.00 to12.00 beginning 18 Jan. 2023. The demand for these classes was very high and the class is oversubscribed and will not be taking more students.

SARG is a very active, vibrant group of retirees who participate in a range of activities.

They include a number of regular activities in the Community Centre at 2.30p.m. from 22^nd. September (and every second Thursday throughout the year).  We play cards (25’s) (€5). For more precise details please check the Community calendar.  

Also on Wednesday nights the Fit Club with Seamus Nugent resumes at 7.00p.m. (€7).  

On every second Thursday throughout the year, we play 10 Pin Bowling in K Bowl in McDonagh Junction, Kilkenny (€7, which includes  refreshments).  Check Community Calendar for dates.

Throughout the year, depending on interest, other activities/classes are arranged. If you are interested in participating in any of our activities, just turn up at the appropriate time.
