Stoneyford Active Retirement Group:

There was a great turnout for Bowls last week. The Stoneyford Bowlers welcomed visitors from the Mullinavat club. The Mullinavat players generously shared their experience and skill with the Stoneyford group and great fun was had by all. If you would like to try Short Mat Bowling come to the Community Centre any Wednesday morning at 10.30a.m.  This is different to 10 Pin Bowling, and the bowls are a lot lighter and smaller. We are learning and if you would like to learn with us, you are more than welcome to come alone.


Stoneyford 10K.

The 11th. Stoneyford 10k and new 5k Challenges will take place on Sunday, May 15th. at 11.00a.m. Preparations are all in order for what should be another exciting day for runners from all over the South East and further afield. It will be a case of all hands on deck for a few hours as everyone welcomes our visitors.

  • The day begins with a children’s 1k for all national school pupils
  • and will be followed by the 5k and 10k events.

South Kilkenny Historical Society

The South Kilkenny Historical Society has organised a coach trip to visit Soloheadbeg, Kilfeacle and Dan Breen’s homestead on Saturday, 28th May. The cost of the trip will include coach hire, guides and evening meal in Cahir House Hotel. The coach will depart from Mullinavat at 8.00a.m., returning at approximately 9.00p.m.

SibShop


Do you have a child with a disability or serious illness? Do they have a sibling/s? Sibshop is an opportunity for siblings to meet others in the same situation.

Sibshop is running on Sunday May 15th 2022 in Danesfort Community Centre.

In the morning, 10am-1pm there are two talks for parents/ guardians. These talks are suitable no matter what ages you child/wards are. The topics covered are

  1. Communication and General Behaviour Strategies for your child with a disability
  2. How to support children who have a sibling with additional needs and what siblings would like parents to know.

In the afternoon a Sibshop that is for children aged 8yrs -12yrs will take place from 2-4.30.

The cost for each event is €10 per person. Family discounts are available.

This event is supported by KCETB and Down Syndrome Kilkenny. It is open to all in Carlow and Kilkenny no matter what disability/ illness effects your child.
