Week of Prayer for Christian Unity:
The Week of Prayer for Christian Unity will be celebrated around the world from January 18th. to January 25th. 2020. Theme “They Showed Us Universal Kindness” (cf. Acts 28:2)
The theme stresses the unusual kindness given to St. Paul, that must be seen in the quest for Christian unity. Through unusual kindness towards one another, Christians are drawn closer together, heeding the prayer of Jesus, ‘that they all may be one’. There must also be awareness of the need for hospitality to the many migrants and refugees who today embark on journeys as dangerous as that of St. Paul.
Reflection for the New Year:
“A new year is unfolding – like a blossom with petals curled tightly concealing the beauty within. Lord, let this year be filled with the things that are truly good – with the comfort of warmth in our relationships, with the strength to help those who need our help and the humility and openness to accept help from others. As we make our resolutions for the year ahead, let us go forward with great hope that all things can be possible – with Your help and guidance.”
May the Lord bless you and keep you. May the Lord let his face shine on you and be gracious to you. May the Lord uncover his face to you and bring you peace.”
