“The Battle of Carrickshock”:

The Home Rule Club in Kilkenny is celebrating its 125th. Anniversary.   It is the sole remaining Home Rule Club in Ireland.  In the context of this celebration they are having a series of talks.  On July 17th. at 8.30p.m. in the Home Rule Club, John’s Quay, Kilkenny; a talk by Maynooth Lecturer, Jim McAuley on “The Battle of Carrickshock 1831-  a Prelude to 1916”: with personal footnotes from Richie Power.

Parks Tennis Summer Camp:

Summer Camp will be held in Scoil Aireagail, Ballyhale from July 15th. to 19th.

Under 10’s; from 10.30a.m. to 12.00Noon.  Over 10th’s from 12.00Noon to 2.00p.m.

Coffee Morning:

A Coffee Morning will be held on Tuesday 30th. July from 10.30a.m. to 1.00p.m. in Kilmoganny Community Centre. Everyone is welcome. Have a clear out and donate your unwanted delightful items to the recycle table and pick up the things you would like to take home with you. Take part in the  ‘Snakes and Ladders’ or ‘Ludo’ challenge or put in a few pieces in the community jigsaw.  Donations accepted and all money raised will be donated to the Kilmoganny L’Arche Community.

South Kilkenny Historical Society:

The South Kilkenny Historical Society will join local and others on Sunday July 14th.  (Fraochán Sunday) on the summit of Tory Hill. Meeting time and place is 1.45p.m. at the Church Car Park, Mullinavat. All welcome. Climbing Tory Hill on Fraochán Sunday is an ancient tradition, dating back many centuries and is associated with the ancient festival of Lughnasa.
