Congratulations to Sam Patrick Donoghue, Lismatigue and his parents Cáit and David. Sam was baptised in Hugginstown Church on Saturday 13th. October.

Parish Council Meeting will be held in the Parish House, Hugginstown on Tuesday 30th. October at 8.00p.m.

Mission Sunday 21st. October 2018:

Today we come together for a celebration of solidarity and unity within the Church – ‘World Mission Sunday’. Today every parish across the globe through our prayers are appreciating the dedication of all our missionaries.In our prayer for the Missions we also help to bring  the Love of God for all to some of the world’s most impoverished and remote communities.  Our contributions to the Mission Collection will be distributed to where the need is greatest.

Remembrance Masses for November:

Remembrance Mass for the Faithful Departed will be celebrated on Saturday 3rd. November: in Stoneyford Church at 6.30p.m. and in Hugginstown Church at 8.00p.m. All who have lost a family member during the past year will be invited to bring a candle to the alter in remembrance of their loved ones during the Mass.  All are invited to write down the names of their own departed ones and place them at the altar for the month of November. They will be remembered at Masses during November.

Collection:

Collection in aid of “The Missions”will be held after all Masses this weekend 20th./21st. October.

Monroe School:

A meeting of the Board of Management will be held in the School on Thursday 25th. October at 8.30p.m.

Stoneyford School:

Mass will be celebrated in Stoneyford School on Friday 26th. October at 12.15p.m.

Vocations:

In order to better promote Vocations to the Priesthood, the National Vocations Office is organising a national “Come and See” event for men between the ages of eighteen and mid-thirties.  This event will take place in Mount St. Anne’s Conference Centre, Portarlington from 6.00p.m. on Friday 23rd. November to 4.00p.m. on Saturday 24th. November.  Further information later.

Southern Deanery Pastoral Council:

A meeting was held on Monday 15th. October in Mullinavat. Aghaviller Parish was represented by Kay Power and Lily Burke.  Fr. Dan Bollard, Vicar Forane chaired the meeting. A vote of sympathy was expressed to the families of Bishop Laurence Forristal; Fr. Bob Raftice and Fr. Nicholas Flavin recently deceased.  Fr. Nicholas was a member of the Southern Deanery for many years.
