Memory Technology Resource Room:
The Memory Technology Resource Room is run by an Occupational Therapist and showcases a wide variety of assistive equipment. The Room is open every Tuesday on the grounds of St. Columba’s Hospital, Thomastown. It is free to attend and it provided people with memory difficulties and their carers the opportunity to see and discuss the benefits of assistive technology equipment that is now available. The 7th. Annual Kells Kings Cycle:
The Kells Kings Charity Cycle Committee is pleased to announce that this year annual cycle has been set for Saturday 1st. September. This year’s event has a cycle route to suit every level regardless of whether you are a leisure or keen cyclist. Hundreds of cyclists are expected to peddle into Kells to take part in the 116km, 80km, 45km and 4km routes, all of which start in Kells. With increasing numbers taking part each year, cyclists are encouraged to register early at www.kellskings.ie. As always your contribution will go directly towards the provision of much needed cancer support services in Kilkenny and the team at Cois Nore have asked us to express their heartfelt gratitude to you for your continued support over the past number of years.

The Money Advice and Budgeting Service is a free, confidential and independent service funded thorough the Citizens Information Board. Mabs assist people who have debt problems, who are in difficulty paying a mortgage or who are facing legal action because of debt. They also provide information and access to Insolvency Services. Are you caring for a loved one with Dementia?
Caring for a loved one with Dementia can be a very rewarding experience; however, it can also be very challenging for many carers. Some carers cope well with these challenges and are considered resilient. St. Vincent’s University Hospital is seeking feedback from a broad range of family carers, to promote the EnCaRe resource. A workshops will take place in The Springhill Court Hotel, Kilkenny on September 11th. from 10:00a.m to 1:00p.m. There will be refreshments at the meeting, followed by lunch after the workshop.
Participants will be invited to engage in with other family carers to tell of their experiences in care giving. If you are interested in participating in these workshops or would like more information on the project please contact Kevin Deegan on +353 85 852 9352or email kevin@carealliance.ie
