Tidy Towns
26 February 2018
Dear All,
Whilst the weather may not be too favourable to us in the first week of March we hope that the Snow will have passed through by this Saturday 3rd March. I really feel that 2018 could be a very significant year of progress for us in the National Tidy Towns competition. Much has happened in the village over the last few years and much more is planned that will have a very positive impact for us in the coming months.
Kathy has taken on overall responsibility for coordinating our Litter Pick programme for 2018. Might i respectfully suggest the following approach in order to assist Kathy:
- Road/Estate by Road/Estate approach.
- Divide up committee & volunteers accordingly lead by a Team Leader for each Road/Estate.
- We will have 8 Monthly Litter Picks.
- Should try to get four volunteers for each road/estate.
- If successful with volunteers this will only require a bi-monthly attendance e.g. maximum four Saturdays in the year.
Areas for Litter Picks.
- Ennisnag/Mail Coach rd Triangle. (Paddy Ganly, Pat Phelan, Donal sheridan & Christy O’Sullivan)
- Kells Rd. (Kathy Ryan & Anthony Roche)
- Lawcus Fields. (Joe Whyte)

If anyone has other suggestions or ideas please let us know. Many thanks.
Meet at Community Centre at 10.30am on Saturday 3rd March. Litter Picks will be available for those who don’t have one. Please bring along your high viz jacket, suitable gloves and footwear. I look forward to a large turnout as a photograph will be taken for Kilkenny People, our website and Facebook to promote awareness for 2018. Many thanks to everyone for their cooperation and support. It really is appreciated.
Kindest regards,
Donie.
