Newmarket/Hugginstown Social Club:
The Newmarket/Hugginstown Social Club will have their ‘Get Together’ on Tuesday 27th. February in “Gáirdín an Ghorta”. Mass will be celebrated at 2.00p.m. to celebrate ‘World Day of the Sick’ and will include the Sacrament of the Sick. All are very welcome.
No Mass in Hugginstown Church on Tuesday.
First Holy Communion:
The Family Masses in preparation for First Holy Communion will be celebrated on Saturday 3rd.March
in Stoneyford Church at 6.30p.m and on Sunday 4th. March in Hugginstown Church at 11.00a.m.
Confirmation Retreat:
All pupils receiving Confirmation in the Parish on 11th. March will attend a one day Retreat in St, Mary’s, Kilkenny on next Thursday 1st. March.
Baptism;
Congratulations to Harper Leigh Farrell and her parents Sinead and Stephen. Harper was baptised in Hugginstown Church on Saturday 17th. February.
Confirmation and First Holy Communion Preparation:
All Parents of the Parish Confirmation Classes and First Holy Communion Classes are invited to a Reflective Evening in Preparation of these Sacraments on Tuesday 27th. February in Hugginstown Church from 7.00p.m. to 7.45p.m. approx.
Ordination of Dermot Farrell, Bishop of Ossory:
The Ordination will take place in St. Mary’s Cathedral, Kilkenny on Sunday 11th. March at 3.00p.m. A maximum of eight people from each parish will be allowed to attend. Please ring 056 776 8693 if you would like to attend, as a personal invitations will be issued.
Diocesan Pilgrimage:
On 3rd. March, Bishop Elect Mgr Dermot Farrell will make a pilgrimage to some of the ancient sites of our Diocese: Seir Kieran – the seat of St. Kieran of Saighir; Aghaboe – the ancient monastery of St. Canice and St. Fergal; and St. Fiacre’s Church in Kilkenny which honours the memory of St. Fiacre. The new Bishop’s Episcopal Ring, His Mitre, His Crozier and Pectoral Cross will be blessed at the four pilgrim stations. All are invited to join Mgr. Farrell on this pilgrimage beginning in St. Fiacre’s Church, Loughboy at 9.30a.m. The pilgrimage will make its way to Sier Kieran arriving at 11.30a.m. The third Station will be in Aghaboe, arriving at 1.30p.m. The final station will be St. Mary’s Cathedral, arriving at 4.00p.m. Bus departing from St. Fiacre’s, Kilkenny Please book with Gemma Mulligan, at 087 757 1250 as booking is essential for the bus. Alternatively you can join the pilgrimage at any one or more of the stations.
Women’s’ World Day of Prayer:
Prayer Service to mark ‘Women’s World Day of Prayer’ will take place on Friday, 2nd. March in St. Canice’s Cathedral at 7.30p.m.
All are welcome.
Monroe School:
Meeting of the Board of Management in Monroe School on Thursday 1st. March at 8.30p.m.
Collection:
The “World Meeting of Families” Collection will be held after all Masses this weekend.
Lenten Station Masses:
Lenten Station Masses will take place on Sunday 18th. March in Stoneyford Church at 10.00a.m. and in Hugginstown Church at 11.00a.m. Envelopes available in the Church.
