Appeal to Dog Owners:

It is your responsibility to ensure that your dog is under your control at all times. You may NOT leave your dog off its lead at any time in a public place and most especially in any of our public spaces either at the Community Centre or its playing fields. It is illegal to let your dog roam free at any time either day or night. Fowling of public spaces with dog pooh and the worrying of sheep are illegal offences.

Stoneyford Old Photo Exhibition Easter 2018:

Thanks to all who supplied old photographs for our forthcoming Photographic Exhibition due to be held at Stoneyford Community Centre on Easter Sunday April 1st. We are still looking for a photograph of the old pre 1927 ‘hump-back’ bridge in Stoneyford.

Carrickshock & St Brendan’s GAA Clubs:

As part of our 2018 History & Heritage programme we are seeking historic information and team photographs on both clubs. All information to stoneyfordnews@gmail.com or 087-3156359.

Tidy Towns Meeting:

The February meeting of Stoneyford Tidy Towns will take place on Monday 19th at 8.00pm at the Community Centre. Road & Estate Volunteers required for monthly Litter Picks commencing on the first Saturday in March. 2018 Targeted Projects will be decided at this meeting.

Farmers & Landowners February 28th:

Only two weeks left to final date for hedgerow cutting –Wednesday 28th February. Please prioritise roadside hedgerows and greatly oblige.

Litter free environment:

Remember a Litter Free Environment is the responsibility of all of us and just not the Tidy Towns Group. If you have litter bin it and if you see litter just pick it up.

History & Heritage Society:

A meeting of the History & Heritage Society will take place on Tuesday 27th February at a new time of 2.15pm. The programme for 2018 will be discussed and decided.

Stoneyford United AFC:

We are looking for historic information on the founding of Stoneyford United AFC as well as old team photographs. All information to stoneyfordnews@gmail.com

Monroe School Fundraising:

Edward Hayden will do a Cooking Demonstration on Thursday 22nd. February at 7.30p.m. in The Rising Sun. Doors open 6.30p.m.  Tickets are available from: Carroll’s Knocktopher; Walshe’s Shop Stoneyford; Fitzgerald’s Shop Hugginstown; and The Rising Sun.
