Village Development:

The Stoneyford Development Association is presently preparing a detailed plan in conjunction with Kilkenny County Council Executive Staff for submission under the EU Towns & Villages Renewal Grant Scheme 2018. Top priorities are the parking issues in the village for the School and Community Centre, proper footpath to Old Bridge Rd linking in with linear Ennisnag-Kells walkway, traffic calming/control measures, street, tree planting, and restoration of old walls/well as well as visitor attraction signage and conservation projects.

Stoneyford Community Centre:

The Community Centre is a hive of activity at present with a whole plethora of clubs and groups using the centre such as: Circuit Training, Stage Door, Line Dancing, Bingo, Pilates, Computer Classes, Yoga, Foroige, Personal Training, Fit Club, Sewing Club, Active Retirement Group, Stoneyford Tidy Towns, History & Heritage Society all operating at full tilt. Tidy Towns Group:

A very successful inaugural meeting of the Tidy Towns Group was held at the CC last week. It was decided to enter the 2018 National Tidy Towns competition.

Kathy Ryan will co-ordinate monthly Litter Picks as well as Facebook page;

Conchubhar de Róiste will manage website;

Tony Roche will take charge of street furniture;

Joe Whyte & Pat Phelan will head up conservation projects;

Helen Finnegan will co-ordinate the Landscaping Plan;

Paddy Ganly, Pat Phelan and Donal Sheridan will look after Ennisnag area.

Paschal Long, Regina Moran, Paddy O’Dwyer and Donie Butler will follow up in all other areas.

Ennisnag Anglers:

Litter free environment:

Remember a litter free environment is the responsibility of all of us so PLEASE DO NOT LITTER and if you do see litter please PICK IT UP.

Dog Pooh continuing problem:

Please keep your dog on its lead and pick up any pooh. It is a serious health issue for our children especially around the Community Centre. Serial offenders will be reported.

School Parking:

Please note that in the interest of Health & Safety parking is NOT permitted on the roads in the immediate vicinity of Scoil Chiaran Naofa. Gardai will be monitoring the situation.

New Athletic Club
New Year’s Resolution! Stoneyford has a new athletic club for adults. If you would like to join or find out more about joining Kings River A.C., contact kingsriverac@gmail.com.

Stoneyford/Ennisnag History & Heritage Society Nostalgia Evening:

An evening of Nostalgia was held at the Community Centre, Stoneyford on Monday last. A video recording and photos taken at the 2017 Easter Remembrance Ceremony, as well as photos from the recent Senior Citizens Christmas Party was shown. People brought along their Old Photographs and these will be considered for a permanent Exhibition at the Community Centre. Late discovery of old photos still welcome. It is expected to launch the Photographic Exhibition this Easter.

Stoneyford Bingo:

Bingo Session in the Community Centre, Stoneyford on every Tuesday at 8.30p.m.

Newmarket/Hugginstown Social Club:

The Newmarket/Hugginstown Social Club will not resume their ‘Get Together’ until Tuesday 6th. February 2018.   Mass will be celebrated at 2.00p.m to celebrate ‘World Day of the Sick’ (Our Lady of Lourdes) and will include the Sacrament of the Sick.
