Carrickshock G.A.A. News

AGM

The club AGM was held in Hugginstown on Friday last, and it was great to see such a good turnout to kick off the new season. Secretary Mary Carroll and Chairman Tommy Murphy both looked back on a successful 2017, the highlight of which was no doubt that Saturday evening in Croke Park back in February when Carrickshock overcame Ahascragh/Fohenagh of Galway to claim the All Ireland Intermediate Club Championship. But they also reflected on what might have been if only the James Stephens hurdle in the Senior Championship Quarter-Final had been successfully negotiated. Still, the League Shield success over Clara brought home deserved silverware for what had all in all been a successful return to the Senior grade.

Sincere thanks were extended to the outgoing management team of Tommy Shefflin, Larry O’Shea, Pat Fennelly and Jimmy O’Shea. Looking forward to the season ahead,

Niall O’Donnell was confirmed as the new manager, with selectors Padraig Rohan, and Shane Lanigan. All present wished the new team every success.
