Litter Pick & Pre Winter Clean-up:
Last week’s postponed Stoneyford Litter Pick will now take place this Saturday 18th Nov at 10.30am weather permitting. Meet at the Community Centre.
Stoneyford/Hugginstown general area Trades Services Directory.

Presently a Services Directory is being assembled which will focus on Electricians, Plumbers, Carpenters/Joiners, Landscapers, Painters etc. We will be placing this list of ‘Trades Services’ on our Village Notice Board & Website in the coming days, so we would appeal to all local tradespeople to forward their contact details (Mobile, Landline & Email) to stoneyfordnews@gmail.ie for inclusion. It will be updated on an ongoing basis. We do hope that you will find it useful. This is a FREE service. Support YOUR community.

Village Renewal Scheme:
A delegation from Stoneyford Development Association are due to meet with Executive members of Kilkenny County Council to discuss the implementation of the 2016 VRS and other important issues today Wednesday 15th November.

Village Memorial Garden.
You will have observed that various flags have flown at the Memorial Garden this year. The Carrickshock, Kilkenny, Ireland and EU flags have flown proudly on appropriate occasions throughout the year to date. All we need now is a Leinster flag to complete the set!

Senior Citizens Party.
The Stoneyford Senior Citizens Christmas party will take place at the Community Centre on Sunday 17th December. Watch out for further details.

History & Heritage:
Old Photographs of Village Exhibition:
It is our intention to mount a Photographic Exhibition at the Community Centre around the time of the Christmas Party so we would ask people to submit old photographs for inclusion in the exhibition. Photos will be scanned at the Community Centre on Saturday 25th November at 11am and returned immediately afterwards.

Bord na nÓg Race Night:
Carrickshock GAA club wishes to thank all who supported Saturday night’s Race Night, those who sold Race Cards in advance, and everyone who made it to Malzard’s on the night to make a great occasion of it. The big prize of €250 in the feature Auction Race went to the ‘Bar Stool’ syndicate in a very tight finish.

Newmarket/Hugginstown Development Association:
We are delighted to announce that Gáirdín an Ghorta in Newmarket, has been awarded a grant of €80,000.00 under the Town and Village Renewal Scheme. This will be used to upgrade the Community Centre so that it may be used by many more groups in our community. As the full cost of the upgrade project is estimated at circa €100k, additional fundraising will be required to make up the shortfall. The committee of An Gáirdín will commence fundraising in the community shortly.

Bennettsbridge Christmas Fair:
Bennettsbridge Christmas fair takes place on Sunday 19th November at the Community Hall in Bennettsbridge. There will be lots of great stalls with crafts and goodies for your Christmas Shopping. We will have a visit from Santa.
