Under 21 B Championship South Quarter-Final
Carrickshock : 1-10(13), Piltown : 1-17(20)
Played on Sunday in Piltown, Carrickshock had the aid of a stiff breeze in the 1st half and got well into the game after a slow start. A well-worked goal on 15 minutes looked to have put them 5 points up, but strangely a free out was awarded. It seemed to knock the wind out of the forwards sail and the disallowed goal was the difference between the teams at half-time. Facing that stiff breeze the backs were were under a lot of pressure in the 2nd half and did well to keep the game alive as long as they did. But the loss of Darragh Brennan to injury mid-way through left too much for Kevin Farrell to do in the forwards. Hard luck lads, it was a great effort from a small and very young panel. A big thank you to team manager Emmett Dunphy and his selectors Eamon Foley, Matty Hanrahan and Ger Grace.
The Panel:
Dan Blanchfield, Jamie Barron, Jody Dwyer, Michael Murphy, Ciaran Lennon, Aaron O’Neill, Conor Aylward, Sean Grace, Kieran Conway, Darragh Doyle, Kevin Farrell, Jake O’Dwyer, Barry Lennon, Darragh Brennan, Rory Doyle, David Sutton, Chris Grace, David Kedney, James Griffin, Luke McNamara, Dylan Halligan (inj.), Sean Cassin (inj.).
