Taizé Youth Trip 2018:

A youth trip to Taizé in France organised by Ossory Youth will take place from 24th. June to 1st. July 2018. A week in Taize is an opportunity for reflection and contemplation and it is a week of meeting young people from different countries and cultures where new friendships are made. Over 100,000 young people from around the world make the trip to Taizé each year.   The trip is open to Transition year, 5th year and Leaving Cert students. Numbers are confined to 25 young people. Child Safeguarding Sunday:

The Diocese of Ossory celebrates Child Safeguarding Sunday this week-end 7th./8th October. It is a reminder to each one of us of our role in the safeguarding of children so that the abuse that happened in the past should not be allowed to happen again. In our parish, we value and encourage the participation of children and young people in all parish activities that enhance their spiritual, physical, emotional and social development. We recognise the dignity and rights of all children and are committed to ensuring their protection and support. In keeping with this, we will work to do all in our power to create safe environments for children and young people to secure their protection and enable their full participation in the life of our parish and church.

Newmarket/Hugginstown Social Club:

Next ‘Get Together’ will be on Tuesday 10th. October at 2.00p.m. in “Gáirdín an Ghorta”, Newmarket. All are very welcome.

“Anam Cara”:

Anam Cara, the organisation that supports bereaved parents, is holding its next monthly Parent Evening on Monday 16th. October from 7:30p.m. to 9:00p.m. in the Horse & Jockey Hotel, Thurles, Co. Tipperary. This event is open to all bereaved parents regardless of the age your child died, the circumstances of their death, or whether the death was recent or not.

St Luke’s Hospital Memorial Mass:

St Luke’s Hospital, Kilkenny will be holding its Annual Memorial Mass for all deceased patients of the Hospital on Tuesday, October 17th.  at 7.30p.m. This year, the Mass will take place in St Canice’s Church, Kilkenny . We extend a very warm welcome to all families who have been bereaved during the past year. The names of those who died at St Luke’s Hospital between September 1st. 2016 and August 31st. 2017 will be displayed close to the Altar. All attending the Mass will be invited to light a candle on arrival at the church and place it close to the display of names before Mass begins. Family members and Staff members of the hospital along with the choir of St Canice’s Church will participate in the Liturgy. All are invited to tea and refreshments afterwards.
