Carrickshock G.A.A. News 25 Meán Fómhair 2017

Senior Championship

The senior championship is hotting up, with the 4 quarter-finals to be played this weekend. After escaping the relegation final, James Stephens are right back in it, so Carrickshock will need to reproduce some of that Shield Final form to get over them. Check kilkennygaa for the exact time and venue.

Minor Championship

The minors showed great fighting spirit on Saturday to come through their Championship 1st round against Tullogher on Saturday. 6 points down at half-time, and conceding an early goal in the 2nd hafl, they left themselves with an uphill battle. But battle they did and eventually leveled things with 4 minutes left before getting their noses in front with a last-minute free, final score 0-12 to 2-5. They face Cloneen in a quarter-final now, on this Saturday 30th.

Under 14 Championship

The Under-14s bowed out of the championship at semi-final stage on Sunday, against a very strong Barrow Ranges team. The final score of 5-15 to 0-12 didn’t really reflect the game, but it was a disappointing end to what had been a good season for the boys. Still they gave us great effort and entertainment all year. They’ll be back!
