Shield FInal
The seniors put on a very impressive display in the Shield FInal against Clara on Saturday. An early goal from Darragh Brennan set Carrickshock on their way, and they never let up from there. The game was over as a contest by half-time, 2-12 to 0-5. Clara did get 2 goals late on, but there was never any doubt and it finished 2-18 to 2-11. We all know Championship is a different ball-game, but it’s good to see the Shocks hurling so well with a Championship quarter-final coming up the weekend after next.
Under 14 Championship
The Under 14s made it a weekend double over Clara, with a 1-11 to 0-8 win in their Championship quarter final. A very impressive 1st half set them up nicely, leading 1-7 to 0-2 at half-time. Clara piled on the pressure early in the 2nd half to come back into it, but the boys finished strongly and were deserved 6 point winners. Now they’re into a County Semi-Final against Barrow Rangers this Sunday 24th.
Minor Championship
The minors play their Championship 1st round on Sunday as well. They’re up against Tullogher, venue to be confirmed, keep an eye on Kilkenny GAA website. Please support the Minors, and Under 14s, on Sunday if you can at all.
