Affairs of the Heart

Affairs of the Heart

(Farewell to my old Pacemaker)

The time has come at last when we must part.

For eight years you’ve been ever in my heart.

With every breath l took,

With every move l made,

You were always there to keep me sure and unafraid.

l met each challenge life could throw

Without a single care.

I could climb a mountain or swim a lake,

Knowing you were there.

But the heart it is a funny thing

And one can never know

What circumstances will dictate

The way the heart might go.

Though now another owns my heart,

l never will forget

The quality you gave my life

From the day when we first met
