Tidy Towns:

  • Monthly Litter Picks
  • Planting of Shrubs and flowers in beds and tubs.
  • Painting of seats, bollards, bins and gates.
  • Grass and weed control and Hedgerow cutting.
  • Permanent Christmas tree at Merino Garden.
  • Develop Bio-diversity strategy for village.
  • Green Flag for School.
  • Steps at Ford River/Stream
  • Dedicate Village Seats to Jim Butler, Maura & Dick Roche & A N Other
  • Tidy up Old Infant School.
  • Tidy up old village approach road walls.
  • Lamps on old Petrol Pumps.

 

Special ProjectStoneyford/Ennisnag Easter Remembrance Sunday Ceremony:

  • Mass at St Brendan’s Church at 11am
  • St Patrick’s Brass Band.
  • Military Colour Party.
  • Commemorative Monument unveiled.
  • Parade from church to Monument involving all community sports and cultural groups
  • School Pageant and Irish music at Community Centre

 

Council projects:

  • Bollards near Noreland’s Junction to prevent foot path parking and thus enable motorists to safely access Main St. Double Yellow Lines here.
  • Speed ramps at Merino Drive.
  • Village to Lawcus Lane footpath.
  • Advance Village Local Area Plan with Council. See attached ‘short term’ plan.

Other Village Projects:

  • Remembrance Garden near raised bed at Merino Drive.
  • Erection of three flag poles for special occasions. St Patrick’s Day, Easter or major sports/cultural events at Community Centre.
  • Complete Field Names
  • Complete Kings River -Kells to Enninag Walking Trail.
  • Erection of Wildlife Boards at Ennisnag-Kings River and Village Green

Heritage Projects:

  • Convert Notice Board to Heritage Board at Merino Garden.
  • Heritage tour of Village and Ennisnag during Heritage Week.
  • Photo Exhibition during Heritage Week at Community Centre.
  • Repair sections of wall at Ennisnag (old) bridge.
  • Clear old farmhouse ruin of wild growth at Ennisnag in association with Phelan family.
  • Restore old Village Well in association with O’Dwyer family
  • Highlight Hoggs Lime Kiln in association with Hogg Family.
  • Source old Telephone Kiosk and Pill Post Box.
  • Wall Plaques for Protected Structures
  • Sign for ‘Schoolhouse Lane’.
  • Plaque for Flood Memorial School and old Infant School
