With a half time lead of 0-13 to 0-1, which was extended to a 14 point lead within 5 minutes of the restart, it was hard for Carrickshock not to take the foot off the pedal. And that’s what happened from there to the finish. Helped by a massive free count in their favour, Robert Emmetts started to eat into the lead. When they pounced on a long range free and rifled to the net it put 8 between the teams with 10 minutes left. A couple more handy frees brought Emmetts within 2 scores and 4 minutes injury time remaining. But the Shocks held out and thoroughly earned their place in Croke Park on Saturday 18th February. What a season it’s been, and it ain’t over yet…
