Leinster Intermediate Club Championship Final 3/12/2016

Carrickshock supporters who travelled to Newbridge on Saturday for the Leinster FInal were treated to one of the most dramatic finishes ever. Carrickshock were 6 points down with 4 minutes of normal time left. Then came the drama. John Dalton, up from full back, scores a goal to bring it back to 3 points. Still 3 points down going into injury time, then a goal from Kevin Farrell to level it. Straightaway Celbridge’s Gerry Keegan puts them back in front with a superb point. Finally John Dalton breaks one to Michael Rohan and he finishes expertly to the net. Before we knew what had happened the final whistle went and Carrickshock held a 2 point lead. We all felt for Celbridge but I suppose they don’t call it The Toughest Game, for nothing. You have to admire the boys’ unbelievable fighting spirit, right to the finish. On the story goes to an All Ireland semi final in January.
