Thoughts on Christmas
Thoughts on Christmas
I’m not the man l used to be,
Not the one I shall one day become.
l’ve passed the allotted three score and ten
And have thoughts of going home.
But, when December comes around,
Something happens in my brain.
The years just seem to fade away
And l’m a boy again.
l travel back to days of yore
To when l was but a lad,
To Christmas morn, with toys galore,
No thanks to Mum and Dad.
Back in real time now I know
For as long as l shall 1ive,
That the true joy of Christmas time
ls greatest when we give.
