A Memorial Mass for the people from the Parish who took part in World War 1. will be celebrated in Hugginstown Church on next Saturday 12th. November at 8.00p.m. If you have names or any information, please contact Denise on 087 621 8356.

November Offerings:

Extra Envelopes for the November Offerings are available in the Church Porch. Please use them for your offering, which can be returned during the month of November.

Remembrance Masses for November:

Remembrance Mass for the Faithful Departed will be celebrated in Stoneyford Church on this Saturday 5th. November at 6.30p.m. and in Hugginstown Church on next Saturday 12th. November at 8.00p.m.

All who have lost a family member during the past year will be invited to bring a candle to the alter in remembrance of their loved ones during the Mass; and all are invited to write down the names of their own departed ones and place them at the altar for the month of November. They will be remembered at all Masses during November.

The Rosary will be recited in Stoneyford Cemetery on Sunday 6th. November at 10.40a.m.

The Rosary will be recited in Calvary Cemetery on Sunday 13th. November at 11.50a.m.

The Rosary will be recited in Hugginstown Cemetery on Sunday 20th. November at 11.45a.m.

Newmarket/Hugginstown Social Club:

The ‘Get Together’ will take place on Tuesday 8th. November from 2.00p.m. to 4.30p.m. in “Gáirdín an Ghorta”, Newmarket. All are very welcome.

Mass will be celebrated in the Centre for all our Faithful Departed at 2.30p.m.

November – Month of the ‘Holy Souls’:

Some people choose to abstain from alcohol for the month of November and offer this prayerful act in honour of their Deceased Loved Ones or for someone they know or love with an addiction. You can do likewise!!

Carrickshock G. A. A.:

The Intermediate Hurling Team will contest the County Final on this Sunday 6th. November against Tullogher/ Rosbercon. Contributions to the Team Training Fund are most welcome. Please join the team at Springhill Court Hotel after the match; tickets are available from any committee member. Best wishes to the team and all officials.

Irish Wheelchair Association:

The Irish Wheelchair Association will hold its national fund raiser “Angel Days” on Thursday 10th and Friday 11th November. Angel pins, angel car air fresheners  and angel fun packs will be on sale at various locations throughout Kilkenny City and surrounding towns. All funds raised are spent on services for local people with physical & sensory disabilities.

Day Care Centre for People with Alzheimer’s Disease/ Dementia:

The Village Day Centre in Kilkenny City is open from Monday to Friday and provides an opportunity for people with dementia to socialise and get involved in some of the dementia specific activities. The activities held in the Day Centre include; art, playing cards, bingo, exercise programmes, walks, day trips, music, dance & singing. A hot meal, snacks and transport are also provided in this warm and homely atmosphere. To avail of the service or for more information call 056 777 1230.

Mass for Deceased Past Pupils:

The Annual Mass for Deceased Past Pupils of St Kieran’s College and their family members will be held in St Kieran’s College Chapel on Friday 25th November at 7.30p.m. This is an opportunity to recall those we spent time with in St Kieran’s and our family members who have gone before us. Mass in the College Chapel followed by a coffee and chance to meet afterwards.

Taizé Youth Trip 2017.

A youth trip to Taizé in France organised by Ossory Youth will take place from 25th. June to 2nd.July 2017.   A week in Taize is an opportunity for reflection and contemplation and a little step back from daily life. But bringing people together is also the essence of Taize and it is a week of meeting young people from different countries and cultures where new friendships are made. Over 100,000 young people from around the world make the trip to Taizé each year. The trip is open to Transition year, 5th year and Leaving Cert students. Numbers are confined to 25 young people. Moving Statues!!!

At the last meeting of the Parish Pastoral Council it was suggested to move the two external statues (Christ the King and Our Lady) at Newmarket Church to a suitable place on the grounds of Hugginstown Church. All suggestions will be very welcome before a decision is made. Please contact any member of the Parish Pastoral Council.

Stoneyford Cemetery:

It has come to the notice of Stoneyford Cemetery Committee that there are unused and unmarked areas in the old part of the Cemetery. These areas have now been marked off, so please make contact if you know of any family who may have used these areas in the past. Areas that are unused in the old part of the Cemetery will be made available to families who are now looking for graves. Contact Numbers: 087 271 1336 or 087 231 2354.
