Carrickshock G.A.A. 12 Meán Fómhair 2016
Camogie All-Ireland
Congratulations to both Kilkenny teams in Sunday’s Intermediate and Senior All-Irelands. Of course we were especially thrilled for the 3 Carrickshock girls, Sabrina Walsh, Aisling Farrell & Lydia Phelan who came on and played a vital part in the final frantic minutes.
Minor Hurling
Carrickshock minors bowed out of the championship at the 1st hurdle in Bennettsbridge on Saturday. After a bright start they were soon overrun by a very balanced James Stephens B side, going down 3-21 to 2-5 in the end. No-one could fault their effort over the season, and a few well deserved wins towards the end of the league gave them every hope going into the championship. So it was all the more disappointing that things didn’t happen for them on Saturday. But fair dues to all for sticking to the task and battling all the way to end.
Panel: Dan Blanchfield, John Cassin, Michael Murphy, Sean Cassin, Rory Doyle, Ciaran Lennon, Christopher Grace, Luke McNamara, Jake O’Dwyer, Darragh Doyle, Kieran Conway, Jamie Barron, Barry Lennon, Michael Kenneally, David Kedney, Brendan Fitzpatrick, Killian Byrnes, Dima Kenneally.
Coaches: Jimmy Sheehan, Joe Brennan.
Under 14 Championship
The Under 14s are in their Championship semi-final on Wednesday against Conahy Shamrocks. The boys had a great run in the league, but know that they have it all to do against the only team to beat them in the league campaign. The venue is just up the road, Danesfort, throw-in at 6.0.
