Canonisation of Mother Teresa of Calcutta:
On this Sunday September 4th. Pope Francis will Canonise Mother Teresa of Calcutta as a Saint of the Catholic Church.
Thomas Hayes Trust:
The Thomas Hayes Trust provides counselling services and family supports free of charge to those effected by suicide. We welcome children, teenagers and adults to avail of our services. Therefore raising the awareness that it is okay to ask for help is crucial.
The Annual Giving Light and Hope Walk will take place in Kilkenny on Saturday the 10th. of September at 6:30p.m. from St. John’s Church Kilkenny and finish at The Parade, Kilkenny Castle. Buckets for donations will be there on the night. Each participant will receive a helium balloon with a small light inside. This balloon will be released on the parade with a moments silence remembering those who have lost their lives to suicide.

Bingo Session in the Community Centre, Stoneyford on every Tuesday at 8.30p.m
Stoneyford Active Retirement:
The Stoneyford Active Retirement Group will resume monthly meetings in the Community Centre next Wednesday 7th. September at 2.30p.m. New faces will be most welcome.

Family Carers Ireland, Carer of the Year Awards 2016:
Throughout Ireland, Family Carers dedicate themselves to providing remarkable levels of care in the home to their loved ones. Once a year we can give them the acknowledgement they deserve through the Carers of the Year Awards. We need your help to identify these carers. If you know a Carer, whether a relative, neighbour or a friend, who you think should be recognised and rewarded for the extraordinary levels of care they provide to a loved one, then please nominate them.
There are two Categories of Awards: Carer of the Year and Young Carer of the Year and this year we are acknowledging the increasing numbers of young carers and for the first time there will be 4 regional Young Carer of the Year awards. Thank you for your support.

Men on the Move:
Men on the Move is a free 12 week physical activity programme for men who want to start exercising, feel fitter and have more energy. Kilkenny Recreation and Sports Partnership will begin the activity programme on the week of the 19th. September in Thomastown, Clara, Castlecomer and The Watershed. Kilkenny Age Friendly Seniors’ Forum Annual Gathering which is taking place on September 15th. in the Ormonde Hotel Kilkenny. Arthritis Ireland:
Arthritis Ireland is seeking volunteers in the Kilkenny area to help run activities for all age groups with Arthritis or Fibromyalgia. Theology Course:
Do you what to know more about your Church and your faith? If so why not take part in a course offered in St Kieran’s College for the coming year. Two nights a week from October to December and January to May; this course will explore areas such as Scripture, Moral Theology, the Church, Liturgy and Sacraments, and Church History.
