Carrickshock G.A.A. 6 Meitheamh 2016

Schools Hurling

The school’s team bowed out with a battling performance in the semi-final of the Tommy O’Brien Cup last Friday in a sun-drenched Danesfort. These great boys (and a few fantastic girls!) put on a brave display to stay in contention all the way through against the recently crowned county champions Tullaroan. Well done to all concerned on reaching both semi-finals in what was an extremely competitive grade this season. The club would like to extend a big thank you to Tom Duggan and Padhraic Moran for a fantastic effort in bringing them so far yet again this year.

This year’s panel: Darragh Dwyer, Michael Rohan. James O’Shea, Andrew Fitzpatick, Tom Lodge, Padraig Lennon, Ryan Grace, Stephen Neville, Conor Brennan, Bobbie Brennan, Shane Fennelly, Aine Rohan, Orlaith O’Shea, Josh Dineen, Edward O’Dwyer, Larry O’Shea, Joseph O’Connell, Conor Farrell, Chris Audaire, Jody Dineen, Jake Power, Joseph Aylward, Michael O’Shea,

Schools Football

Best of luck to our 3 representatives on the County Schools panel for the annual Primary Schools Football Blitz with Laois, Wexford and Carlow in Nowlan Park this Friday (10th). Shane Fennelly, Sean Moore & Padraig Lennon will be flying the Carrickshock flag on Friday. Believe it or not, the 2 Kilkenny teams have reached the final of this blitz the last 3 years, so no pressure boys!

Under 12 Hurling

Best of luck to the Under 12s in the B final of the Tullogher tournament. They finished second in a very competitive group, beating Mooncoin & Glenmore and only losing out to tournament hosts Tullogher. They face Ballyhale Shamrocks in their final, it should be on this coming weekend (keep an eye on club Facebook page), so best of luck to all concerned.

Under 14 Hurling

It’s a busy time for our Under 14 Hurlers – last week they went down against Conahy, then face James Stephen’s in Hugginstown on Monday (6th), followed by Cloneen on Friday (10th). Let’s hope the boys can get another couple of wins under their belts to keep them in the shake-up for the league knockout stages.
