Carrickshock Bord na n-Óg 16 Bealtaine 2016
Intermediate Hurling
The Intermediates had a good win against Thomastown on Sunday evening in Mullinavat, final score 2-19 to 1-14. Carrickshock finished strongly after it looked like Thomastown were getting on top midway through the 2nd half. With everyone in the group having one win under their belt now, it’s opened up the group with another round to come next weekend. Roll on Dunnamaggin in WIndgap next Sunday.
Under 16 Hurling
Under 16 Hurlers beat Dicksboro B in the final round of the league last Wednesday, on a score of 3-14 to 3-7. This makes it 4 wins out of 5 and puts them through to a league semi-final, to be played shortly after the June exams.
Schools Hurling
It was certainly a busy week of schools hurling last week. On Monday they beat WIndgap to advance to the semi-final of the Tommy O’Brien cup. Then on Thursday they won through to the finals of the Mini 7s. The finals were played on Friday, where they did us all very proud. They won through to the overall final, beating Mooncoin & Clara on the way, before losing the decider to St Canices. It was always going to be a tall order against the city side, but well done to all concerned. The Mini 7s team – Stephen Neville, Tom Lodge, Padraig Lennon, Larry O’Shea, Josh Dineen, James O’Shea, Darragh Dwyer, Ryan Grace, Joseph O’Connell, Edward Dwyer.
Next up for the Schools team is the semi-final of the League / Championship against Tullaroan on Thursday.
Under 14 Football
The Under 14 hurlers started their league campaign very positively with a win in Tullaroan, by 5-11 to 3-6. Next round on Monday (16th) at home to Fenian, then a visit to Conahy on the following Monday (23rd)
