Under 14 Football
Our Under 14 footballers started the weekend on the right note with a hard-fought win over Barrow Rangers in their Championship semi-final in Hugginstown on Friday evening. When Josh Dineen blasted to the roof of the net early on it looked like a repeat of the league final a few weeks ago was in store. But this was a different Barrow Rangers team, who worked very hard and dominated physically. When a long range free snook under the crossbar with a few minutes left it looked like they might get revenge. But super-sub Mason Byrnes popped up to split the posts and send the boys through to the final. Go for the double lads!
Under 16 Hurling
Under 16 Hurlers need to get their league campaign back on track when they visit Skeough to take on Barrow Rangers on Monday evening (25th).
Minor Hurling
Our minors face Tullaroan on Wednesday (27th) in the 2nd round of the league. Venue to be confirmed, please check website.
Schools Hurling
Carrickshock kept up their unbeaten record with a win over Muckalee in Hugginstown last week. They travel up the road to take on Danesfort this Wednesday (25th).
Intermediate Hurling
No joy for our Intermediates in the 1st round of the League last Sunday in Callan. They were rocked by 2 goals at either end of the 1st half. An 8-point half-time deficit always looked a tall order, but 3 quick points in the second-half gave us hope. Then losing top forward Kevin Farrell to injury half-way through was too much of a setback, and Lisdowney finished the stronger to come through by 2-11 to 0-9.
