Under 14 Football

Well done to our Under-14 Footballers. They made it through to the League Final with a hard-fought victory over Cloneen/Railyard today (Sunday). The final score was 4-6 to 2-3, but for much of the game there was nothing between the teams. An early goal by Oisin Doyle was the perfect start, but Carrickshock failed to convert a number of chances early on. This allowed Cloneen back into it and at half-time it was level, 1-2 each. An early 2nd-half goal for Cloneen was cancelled out by a brilliant overhead punch to the net by Eoghan O’Neill, level again. Carrickshock started to motor now: a couple of frees from Eoghan O’Neill, a great point from Adam Long and when Shane Fennelly finished to the top corner, they were in the driving seat. Another great goal from Shane sealed it. Best of luck to the boys in the League Final.

Schools Hurling

Our schools hurlers got off to a good start in the League/Championship with a good win over Paulstown/Goresbridge on Wednesday in Hugginstown. They take on KIlmacow next on Monday, before the break for Easter Holidays.

Leinster League

Carrickshock went down by 2 points to Lucan Sarsfields on Saturday in the Leinster League. With one more round to play against St. Aidans of Ferns, Carrickshock are still well in it. That match is fixed for next Saturday at 3 PM, but keep an eye on kilkennygaa.ie for any changes.
