Mental Health / Suicide Awareness:
Talk will take place on Wednesday 9th. March in the Springhill Court Hotel, Kilkenny at 7.00p.m. Speakers are Vincent Byrne – Cycling Against Suicide; Angela Hayes – The Thomas Hayes Trust; Cecilia Shefflin, – Mindfulness Coach; and Music by Claire Walsh and James Rice. All are very welcome.
Kilkenny Bereavement Support Group:
Kilkenny Bereavement Support are hosting a Public Talk entitled, “Understanding Self-Harm and Suicide in Young People” in the Newpark Hotel, at 7.30p.m. on Thursday March 3rd. This talk will explore the psychology of self- harm and suicide among young people. The speaker is Dr. Eoin Galavan a Senior Clinical and Counselling Psychologist working in Adult Mental Health services.
Dr. Eoin Galavan and Dr. Olivia Murphy, Senior Clinical Psychologist working in the Child andAdolescent Mental Health services will hold a workshop for parents and concerned adults on Saturday, March 19th. 2016.
Stoneyford 10k Challenge 2016:
Training: ‘Kitchen to 10k’: Starting on Wednesday, February 24th. at 9.45a.m. is a new “Kitchen to 10k” walk/run program for complete beginners; designed ultimately to get you to the start line of our great Stoneyford 10k, just 11 weeks later.
‘Improver Sessions’ – Starting on Monday, February 22nd. at 7.00p.m. These are ‘Improver Sessions’, geared toward increasing your ability over the 10k distance come mid-May, but with intervals that can be adapted for most distances.
Both the ‘Kitchen to 10k’ and ‘Improver Sessions’ will take place at the grass track by the Stoneyford Community Centre. To register your interest or for more information, call/text Adele at 087 938 4521
