Sacrament of Healing and Reconciliation:

The Sacrament of Reconciliation for Christmas will be celebrated during Masses on Saturday 19th. December 2014.

In Stoneyford Church during the 6.30p.m. Mass and in Hugginstown Church during the 8.00p.m. Mass.

New School Board of Management:

Meeting in Monroe School will be held on Wednesday 16th. December at 8.30p.m.

Jubilee Year of Mercy:

Pope Francis has announced the ‘Year of Mercy’ which commenced on Tuesday 8th. and will run until 20th. November 2016. Bishop Freeman will inaugurate the ‘Jubilee Year of Mercy’ in our Diocese with the Celebration of the Eucharist with Priests, Religious and the Lay Faithful on this Sunday, 13th. December in St. Mary’s Cathedral at 5.30p.m.

St. Vincent de Paul Annual Appeal:

The Local Conference of St Vincent de Paul will hold its annual Christmas Appeal after Masses in Stoneyford and Hugginstown on this weekend Saturday 12th. and Sunday 13th. December. We would like to offer our thanks to the parishioners of Aghaviller who have been very generous in supporting our work to date. Once again, please help us to assist those in need in our community this Christmas by donating to this collection. Alternatively, please text the Aghaviller St.V.P. mobile number at 087 708 0230 for details to donate to our local St. Vincent de Paul Society.

Choir Practice:

Choir Practice for Christmas will take place in Hugginstown Church on Tuesday 15th. December at 8.30p.m.

If anyone would like to play a musical instrument please bring it with you. Extra voices will be very welcome.

Open in Stoneyford Community Centre. You may take a book or leave a book. No checking out, no checking in; just read at your leisure.

Anytime the Centre is open the Book Exchange is open in Room M1. All are welcome.

Carrickshock Camogie Club:

Carrickshock Camogie Club will be holding a Dinner Dance on the 16th. January 2016 to celebrate the Club’s success during 2015, in the Ormonde Hotel, Kilkenny.

Winter Solstice at Knockroe: An invitation to join the South Kilkenny Historical Society for the Winter Solstice sunset at Knockroe Passage Tomb on Monday, December 21st.

Meeting time and place: 2.30p.m. at Owning Church.   All are welcome.

Remembrance:

The Annual Torchlight Procession from Hugginstown to the Carrickshock Monument will take place on Monday 14th. December at 8.30p.m..   All are welcome to take part.

Newmarket/Hugginstown Social Club:

The ‘Get Together’ will take place on Tuesday 15th. December from 2.00p.m. to 4.30p.m. in “Gáirdín an Ghorta”, Newmarket.

World Youth Day 2016

World Youth Day 2016 will take place in Poland at the end of July 2016.  Pope Francis will attend and will lead the Way of the Cross on Friday, the overnight vigil on Saturday and celebrating Mass on Sunday 31st July.  The Diocese of Ossory invites young people to attend.  Young people (over 18) are invited to make contact through wyd@ossory.ie or Fr Richard Scriven 087 242 0033 or Derek Dooley 087 938 4242 for further information.
