Carrickshock Bord Na n-Óg 16 Samhain 2015

School’s Football

The school’s football team bowed out of the League Championship at the quarter–final stage against Glenmore last Wednesday in Mullinavat. Carrickshock had most of the pressure in the 1st half, but couldn’t convert it to scores. Meanwhile, Glenmore made the most of their few chances and 2 quick goals midway through helped them to a 3-1 to 1-1 halftime lead. Carrickshock battled fiercely against the wind in the 2nd half and did pull back a couple of early points, but couldn’t get the goals they needed, 2 attempts coming back off the post. In the end they went down 3-3 to 1-3 but the boys can be extremely proud of their league campaign in a very competitive Roinn B. After going out in the quarter-final of the Country Cup against Gowran the week before, this brings an end to this season’s football campaign. As always a big thank you to Tom Duggan and  Pádraig Moran for their great work with the boys, as well as to all the parents for all the driving and support.
