A meeting will take place next Wednesday 4th. November at 2.30p.m. in Stoneyford Community Centre.

Bowls afterwards for anyone interested. All are welcome.

Remembrance Masses for November:

Remembrance Mass for the Faithful Departed will be celebrated in Hugginstown Church on Saturday 7th. November at 8.00p.m.

and in Stoneyford Church on Saturday 14th. November at 6.30p.m.

All who have lost a family member during the past year will be invited to bring a candle to the alter in remembrance of their loved ones during the Mass; and all are invited to write down the names of their own departed ones and place them at the altar for the month of November. They will be remembered at all Masses during November.

Understanding the Papacy of Pope Francis:  

The Mercy of God and a resulting merciful Church is at the heart of his faith and his teachings.   Through a series of talks the Ossory Faith Development Group hope to explore this idea. The Venue is St Patrick’s Parish Centre, Loughboy, Kilkenny. on Wednesday 4th. 11th. and 18th. November at 7.30p.m. each evening. All are very welcome.

Alcohol-Free” Bar:

Kilkenny’s first “Alcohol-Free” Bar is open every Thursday night from 9.00p.m. to 11.00p.m. in Flipside Studios, Colliers Lane, Kilkenny. The main purpose of this space is to provide a social outlet for people (aged 18+) that doesn’t revolve around alcohol.  Somewhere people can relax, at night time, with a mineral/cuppa and good company.

Annual Triduum:

The Annual Triduum in honour of St Martin De Porres takes place at the Black Abbey Kilkenny from Tuesday 3rd. to Thursday 5th. November. This year the preacher will be Fr. Brendan Clifford OP.

The Irish Wheelchair Association:

The Irish Wheelchair Association will hold its national fund raiser “ANGEL DAYS” on Thursday 5th. and Friday 6th. November. Angel Pins, Angel Car Air Fresheners and Angel Fun packs will be on sale at various locations throughout Kilkenny City and surrounding Towns. All funds raised are spent on services for local people with physical & sensory disabilities. Thank you for your ongoing support.

The Crisis in Mental Health in Ireland Today:

Dr. Fergus Heffernan will present a talk entitled ”The Crisis in Mental Health in Ireland Today” at St. Fiacre’s Church, Loughboy at 8.00p.m. on Tuesday, 3rd. November.  Very recent research is highlighting a great difficulty with young people in Ireland and their mental health.  This is a night that will focus on the reasons why young people seem to be finding it so difficult to cope.  We will  look at how we as a family and community can offer support and guidance.
