Remembrance Masses for November:

Remembrance Mass for the Faithful Departed will be celebrated in Hugginstown Church on Saturday 7th. November at 8.00p.m.

and in Stoneyford Church on Saturday 14th. November at 6.30p.m.

All who have lost a family member during the past year will be invited to bring a candle to the alter in remembrance of their loved ones during the Mass; and all are invited to write down the names of their own departed ones and place them at the altar for the month of November. They will be remembered at all Masses during November.

November – Month of the Holy Souls:

Some people choose to abstain from alcohol for the month of November and offer this prayerful act in honour of their Deceased Loved Ones and for someone they know or love with an addiction. You can do likewise!

‘Tai Chi’ Class will take place in The Community Centre, Stoneyford on Thursdays at 2.15p.m. (Runners and Sportswear).   All are welcome.

A Lecture on ‘The Ordnance Mapping of Ireland’ will take place on Thursday, October 29th. in Mullinavat Parish Hall (opposite Church) at 8.00p.m. The Speaker will be Mr Richard Kirwan (former Director of Ordnance Survey Ireland) All are welcome. ‘Go For Life’ Games for Older Adults:

‘Go for Life’ is a national organisation that aims to get older people more active, more often through recreational sport. In Kilkenny, there is an opportunity to participate in these games on Tuesday nights in The Watershed at 8.30p.m.  Over the last two years, the choice of activities has built up, with the group now regularly taking part in Short Mat Bowling, Chair Based Exercise and even Walking Football!!  If you would like to take part please contact 056 779 4991.

Down Memory Lane:

With a view to holding an evening of nostalgia in Stoneyford it is hoped to hold a photographic exhibition in the near future.  If you were a member of any organisation e.g. Stoneyford United Soccer Club, St. Brendan’s Hurling Club, Stoneyford School Rounders Teams, Class Photos, Foroige Club, Dramatic Society, Tennis Club, Young Variety Group or Stagedoor, Singing Pubs, Development Association or Ladies Club or indeed any organisation not mentioned above please search you photo albums for anything that might be of interest also old photos of the village and its characters would be welcome.  Brid Malzard, Joan Holland, Catherina Roche & Sheila Raggett will accept your items but please make sure they have your name on the back.  Looking forward to hearing from you all.

Newmarket/Hugginstown Social Club ‘Get Together’ will take place on Tuesday 27th. October at 2.00p.m. in Gairdín an Ghorta, Newmarket. All are very welcome.

Halloween Disco:

The Parents Association of St. Brendan’s N. S., Newmarket are running a Halloween Themed Disco in the Community Centre, Hugginstown on Thursday 29th. October at 6.30p.m. All children in pre-schools, primary schools and their parents are welcome.
