Monster Bingo:

A Monster Bingo with €15,000.00 prize money will be held in Cillín Hill, Kilkenny on this Sunday 18^th. October at 3.00 p.m. in aid of St. Mary’s Cathedral Restoration Fund. Bingo Books at €15.00 and €20.00. Single Sheets at €2.00. Raffle tickets €2.00.

Newmarket/Hugginstown Social Club are running a bus to the Bingo. The bus will be in Hugginstown at 1.15p.m. The bus will also stop in Newmarket at Gairdin an Ghorta at 1.30p.m. If you wish to travel please telephone Kay at 056 776 8985 or Lily at 056 776 8008. Your support would be appreciated.

‘Go For Life’ Games for Older Adults:

‘Go for Life’ is a national organisation that aims to get older people more active, more often through recreational sport. In Kilkenny, there is an opportunity to participate in these games on Tuesday nights in The Watershed at 8.30p.m.  Over the last two years, the choice of activities has built up, with the group now regularly taking part in Short Mat Bowling, Chair Based Exercise and even Walking Football!!  If you would like to take part, you can turn up on the night or contact Kilkenny Recreation and Sports Partnership to register on 056 779 4991. The games start on Tuesday 20^th. October at 8.30p.m. All are welcome!

Down Memory Lane:

With a view to holding an evening of nostalgia in Stoneyford it is hoped to hold a photographic exhibition in the near future.  If you were a member of any organisation e.g. Stoneyford United Soccer Club, St. Brendan’s Hurling Club, Stoneyford School Rounders Teams, Class Photos, Foroige Club, Dramatic Society, Tennis Club, Young Variety Group or Stagedoor, Singing Pubs, Development Association or Ladies Club or indeed any organisation not mentioned above please search you photo albums for anything that might be of interest also old photos of the village and its characters would be welcome.  Brid Malzard, Joan Holland, Catherina Roche & Sheila Raggett will accept your items but please make sure they have your name on the back.  Looking forward to hearing from you all.

Concert in Stoneyford:

Rebecca Storm will appear in Concert in Stoneyford on Saturday next October 24^th. at 8.00p.m. This will be her second appearance in Stoneyford and if this concert is half as good as the first time it will prove to be a very memorable occasion. Tickets for this event can be purchased at Walshe’s Shop, Malzard’s Pub, Knockdrinna Cafe or at Stoneyford Community Centre from Monday to Thursday from 9.00a.m. to Lunchtime.
