Carrickshock Bord na n-Óg 5 Deireadh Fómhair 2015

Minors

Hard luck to the Carrickshock minors, who went out of the Championship on Sunday against a very strong Dicksboro B team. After the high of last year, this season was always going to be a big ask. And with 3 regular starters unavailable on Sunday through injury, it meant that the team started with 8 Under 16s. They were hit with a couple of sucker punches early on but battled fiercely throughout, and deserve huge credit not just for the effort on the night, but for the work they’ve put in all season. A big thank you to the management team of Jimmy Sheehan, Jim Ireland and Tom Cassin, for their dedication and all the great work they’ve put in with the lads since last March.

The Panel: Dan Blanchfield, John Cassin, Sean Cassin, Jamie Barron, Conor Aylward, Chris Grace, Mikey Kenneally, Daragh Doyle, Sean Grace, David Kedney, Jody Dwyer, Kieran Conway, Jake O’Dwyer, Michael Murphy, Barry Lennon, Connor Mulholland, Luke McNamara, Ciaran Lennon, Rory Doyle, Stefan Maher.

Winners of Lory Kiely

Well done to our Under 14s who travelled to Carrick Beg last Tuesday for the final of the annual Lory Kiely Tournament. They took on the hosts, St. Molleran’s under lights and both teams put on an exhibition of hurling, with Carrickshock coming out on top by 3-9 to 0-10 and were rewarded with a beautiful set of trophies. Well done to boys for bringing a smile to the club on an otherwise tough week!

Juvenile Training

Last training session of the season on this Saturday, October 3rd from 2:30 to 4:30 in Hugginstown. All from Under 6 to Under 14 to attend. Come along, bring the family, and we’ll round off a great hurling year with a chat, a cuppa and a bun or two!

Schools Football

The Cumann na mBunscoil schools football season is back in full swing. The boys are continuing in the same vein as last season, and have won 4 out of their 5 games in a very competitive Roinn B league. Next up is Mullinavat in Stoneyford on this Wednesday, 7th.

Race Night

Carrickshock Bord na nOg will hold a fundraising Race Night on Saturday 31st October in Malzard’s Stoneyford. This is the main fundraising event of the year for our juvenile section and we would ask all families to support it. Race cards are available from any of the club coaches or officials.
