Carrickshock Bord na n-Óg 7 Meán Fómhair 2015
All Ireland Champions
Well done to Brian Cody and all the Kilkenny team on another famous victory in the All Ireland on Sunday. Congratulations to the Carrickshock contingent of Richie Power, John Power and Michael Rice. Richie and John both came into the fray to play crucial parts in the victory. It was particularly pleasing to see Richie Power on the field of play after his battle with injuries all summer long.
Minor
Carrickshock minors took on Young Irelands, last Tuesday in Hugginstown. Missing a few regulars, Carrickshock started well and were well in the game after 20 minutes, 0-3 each. But in a 10 minute spell before half-time Young Irelands showed why they’re top of the league, cracking home 4 goals, one as good as the other. Carrickshock steadied the ship in the 2nd half but couldn’t get scores to get them back in the game, final score 4-14 to 0-6. They now face Cloneen this Tuesday (8th) in Hugginstown at 7.0. Best of luck boys, and hopefully we’ll see a good turnout in Hugginstown for their last league match, with Championship just around the corner.
Under 14s
Well done to the Under 14s on a great battling victory against Slieverue in the Championship last Monday. They now take on Tullaroan in the quarter-final on Tuesday (8th) in Kilmanagh at 7.0. Tullaroan have had a strong league campaign and will go into this as favourites. But Carrickshock have showed great improvement over the summer and have nothing to fear in this contest.
