Minor & Under 16 Hurling

Shocks 3The minors and Under-16s got their league campaigns back on track with good wins last week. Under 16s made the long trip to Johnstown on Monday evening to face Fenians. Playing into the wind Carrickshock started strongly, but conceded a bad goal just before half-time. They led 1-5 to 1-2 at the break. In the 2nd half they really took over and ran out comfortable winners in the end by 1-8 to 1-3. The Minors took on Mullinavat in Hugginstown on Friday. After a disappointing start to the league, a win was badly needed. Things started evenly, but Kieran Conway’s booted goal helped Carrickshock to a 1-10 to 0-7 half-time lead. Carrickshock were having the better of the 2nd half too but a Mullinavat goal mid-way through brought them right back into. But Carrickshock lifted it again and Stefan Maher’s goal helped them to a 2-17 to 1-15 win. Next up for the minors is a league match vs Graignamanagh in Graig  on Wednesday 22nd at 7.30
