Choir Practice:
An invitation to choir members to participate in the Ordination of Rev. Brian Griffin. The Ordination will take place in St Mary’s Cathedral on June 28th. at 3.00p.m.
The first practice for choirs will take place in St John’s Church, Kilkenny on Monday 25th. May at 7.30p.m.
Our Lady of Fatima:
On the feast of Our Lady of Fatima, Wednesday 13th. May; a blessing with the Relic of the Children of Fatima will be given in the Blessed Sacrament Chapel, St Mary’s Cathedral, Kilkenny at 7.00p.m. All are welcome.
Text Alert Scheme:
A Public Meeting will be held in Gáirdin an Ghorta, Newmarket on Tuesday 12th. May at 8.00p.m. with the view to setting up a Community Text Alert Scheme in the Hugginstown and Newmarket areas.
Members of the Gardaí from the Thomastown Garda Station will be in attendance and will explain how the Text Alert Scheme works.
Stoneyford 10K.:
Stoneyford 10K. will take place on Sunday 17th. May in Stoneyford Village.
Sponsorship Cards are available for local charities or from the Alzheimer Day Centre in Kilkenny.
South Kilkenny Historical Society:
South Kilkenny Historical Society will have a coach trip to Kinsale and Midleton Distillery, Cork on Saturday, May 23rd. Coach will leave Mullinavat at 8.00a.m. and return at 10.00p.m.(approx.) Cost includes Coach Fare, Guided Tours at Kinsale and Midleton Distillery and evening meal. The trip coincides with the 100th. Anniversary of the sinking of the Lusitania and will include visits to sites related to this tragic event. Focus Ireland:
Focus Ireland works to end homelessness at a national level. The South East Regional Team support families and individuals in Waterford, Cork, Wexford, Kilkenny, Carlow and Tipperary through their supported housing. At the moment they have a deficit of volunteers to meet their needs regarding forth coming fundraising activities. Any person interested in volunteering can visit the Focus Ireland website: www.focusireland.ie to learn more about their services and then contact the Waterford Fundraising team at regionalfundraising@focusireland.ie .
Irish Language Summer Camp:
Bí Beo Sports and Irish Language Summer Camp will be held at Loreto Secondary School, Kilkenny from 29th. June to 3rd. July and from 13th. July to 17th. July. Camp is suitable for 11 to 15 year olds. For further information please contact Nichola Leonard at 083 469 0239.
