We welcome Fr. Denis Hartnett of the Mill Hill Fathers who will speak on the work of the Mill Hill Missionaries and of his own experiences of mission in the Sudan during all Masses this weekend 2nd. and 3rd. May 2015.
Stoneyford Active Retirement Group:
Group will meet in The Community Centre, Stoneyford on Wednesday 6th. May at 2.15p.m. Please note the new time of afternoon. New faces will always be very welcome.
Newmarket/Hugginstown Social Club:
Next ‘Get Together’ will be on Tuesday 5th. May from 2.00p.m. to 4.30p.m. in “Gáirdín an Ghorta”, Newmarket. All are very welcome.
Ossory Adult Faith Development:
A Lecture on the Marriage Referendum (What are the consequences of its passing that we can now foresee?) will be given by Mr. Patrick Treacy S.C. on Monday 11th. May at 7.30p.m. in St. Patrick’s Parish Centre, Loughboy. All are very welcome.
Stoneyford 10K.:
Stoneyford 10K. will take place on Sunday 17th. May in Stoneyford Village. Sponsorship Cards are available for local charities or from the Alzheimer Day Centre in Kilkenny.
Stoneyford Tidy Towns:
Please note that the May ‘Litter Pick Day’ has been postponed to Saturday May 9th. due to the Bank Holiday weekend. In the meantime ordinary weekly Litter Picks by road/street, estate representatives should continue as usual.
South Kilkenny Historical Society:
South Kilkenny Historical Society will have a coach trip to Kinsale and Midleton Distillery, Cork on Saturday, May 23rd. Coach will leave Mullinavat at 8.00a.m. and return at 10.00p.m.(approx.). Cost includes Coach Fare, Guided Tours at Kinsale and Midleton Distillery and evening meal. The trip coincides with the 100th. Anniversary of the sinking of the Lusitania and will include visits to sites related to this tragic event. Focus Ireland:
Focus Ireland works to end homelessness at a national level. The South East Regional Team support families and individuals in Waterford, Cork, Wexford, Kilkenny, Carlow and Tipperary through their supported housing. At the moment they have a deficit of volunteers to meet their needs regarding forth coming fundraising activities. Any person interested in volunteering can visit the Focus Ireland website: www.focusireland.ie to learn more about their services and then contact the Waterford Fundraising team at regionalfundraising@focusireland.ie .
Text Alert Scheme:
A Public Meeting will be held in Gáirdin an Ghorta, Newmarket on Tuesday 12th. May at 8.00p.m. with the view to setting up a Community Text Alert Scheme in the Hugginstown and Newmarket areas. Members of the Gardaí from the Thomastown Garda Station will be in attendance and will explain how the Text Alert Scheme works.
Kilkenny Alzheimer:
Tea Day in St Fiacre’s Parish Centre, Loughboy. Thursday 7th. May from 10.00am to 1.00pm. All are welcome. All proceeds towards local services for people living with Alzheimer’s/Dementia. For more information call: 056 777 1230.

God our Father, send workers into your harvest. May the Spirit we receive in Baptism, touch the hearts of many to offer themselves in Priesthood, Religious Life and in other forms of service. Give the parents and families of our parish the wisdom and courage to support our young people, in searching for and following the call of God in their lives. Through Christ Our Lord, Amen.
