Carrickshock Bord na n-Óg 27 Aibreán 2015
Minor & Under 16 Hurling
The minors play the last round of the league before the break for exams this Wednesday 29th, with a trip to Ballyragget to take on St. Patricks. After a disappointing opening to the league, they’ll be hoping to get things back on track in this one.
Under 16 Hurling
A great victory.
After a number of false starts, the Under 16s finally got their league campaign started this evening, Monday 27th, in a bitterly cold Hugginstown. And they came away with a very encouraging win over neighbours Mullinavat. Despite playing into the wind, Mullinavat started strongly but couldn’t put the scores on the board. Then once the Carrickshock half-backs and midfield got to grips with their opponents, the Shocks started to dominate and went in at half time 1-3 to 0-1 ahead. With the wind behind them in the 2nd half Mullinavat still struggled to break down a resolute Carrickshock defence. They did eventually, and scored 3 points in quick succession to leave the scores 1-4 to 0-5 to set up a nervy finish for Carrickshock. But they held firm and knocked over the final score for a 1-5 to 0-5 win.
