Crime Prevention:
The Crime Prevention Officer for the Kilkenny – Carlow Garda Division would like to bring it to the attention of all that vehicles are been broken into on a regular basis, while owners are attending Mass and/or visiting Graveyards. This crime is unfortunately on an upward trend in Kilkenny – Carlow Division at present, and apart from the financial loss to injured parties, it causes much stress and anguish.
He points out “that vehicles are always targeted because property is left in open view for the thief to steal”. Indeed, some of the cars that have been entered have even been left unlocked, making them an easy target. These crimes are opportunist and mostly avoidable, by people simply taking care to secure their vehicles properly and to ensure that there is no valuables or property in view to attract the thieves who are targeting this type of crime.
