The Sacrament of Reconciliation for Easter will be celebrated during Masses next Saturday 21st. March 2015.

In Stoneyford Church during the 6.30p.m. Mass; and in Hugginstown Church during the 8.00p.m. Mass.

Lenten Station:

Many thanks to all who contributed to the Lenten Stations during the past weeks.

These contributions are for the support of the priests of the Parish and Diocese.

Extra Envelopes for the Lenten Station Contributions are available at the Church Porch.

Baptism:

Congratulations to Eoin Patrick Fitzgerald and his parents Pádraig and Una. Eoin was baptised in Hugginstown on Sunday 8th. March.

Monroe School:

Meeting of the Board of Management will be held in the school on Thursday 19th. March at 8.00p.m.

Parish Council Meeting:

Items discussed at the Parish Council Meeting on Wednesday last were: a. The Launch of the Diocesan Pastoral Plan; b. The Safeguarding of Children; c.   The Celebration of 200 Years of Stoneyford Church;

  1. Parish Timetable and Rota for Holy Week, Easter and Cemetery Masses; e. Possibility of Eucharistic Minister to distribute Holy Communion at back of Churches to help the Elderly.

Peace in Christ, Retreat House, Kilkenny:

“Walking with Jesus”.   A time to prepare for Easter through Prayer and Reflection on Sunday 29th. March from 10.30a.m. to 5.00p.m. Guided by Fr. Martin Delaney and the Retreat House Team. As you may know the Retreat House is due to close in June 2015 after 48 years in existence. It was established by Bishop Peter Birch in 1967 as a quite place of prayer, reflection and retreats for the people of the diocese. This experience has touched the lives of many people including our Confirmation Classes every year. A sincere thanks to the Retreat House Team and to the Parish Promoters who helped all to avail of the hospitality of the Retreat House down the years.

Marian Devotion; (The Prayer of Mary)

The Rosary and Prayers will be recited on Thursday 19th. in Hugginstown Church at 7.30p.m

Bingo:

Bingo Session in the Community Centre, Stoneyford on every Tuesday at 8.30p.m

St. Joseph’s Young Priests Society:

This is a Lay Organisation who pray and support Vocations to the Priesthood and Religious Life.

The Society in Stoneyford is seeking new members, if interested please contact 085 145 5165.

Collection:

The St. Vincent de Paul” Society wish to thank all who contributed to their recent Collection.

St. Mary’s Cathedral Restoration Fund Draw:

It is coming close to the first draw, to help in the fundraising campaign in the Diocese which is necessary to renovate and conserve St. Mary’s Cathedral. This is a very big project in the Diocese and will need the support as many as possible. Promoters for the draw are needed in every parish to make the draw a success. If you can help, please let us know. Tickets are available at the moment at €10.00 per month from the Parish House, Hugginstown. The draw will be held on the last Wednesday of each month with prize money €5,000.00 per month. The first draw will be on Wednesday 25th. March 2015.

Callan/BOI Enterprise Town:

All the businesses, clubs and communities in Callan and surrounding towns will come together in April where they can showcase their ‘wares’. The first meeting will be held on Thursday 19th. March 2015 at 7.00p.m. in John Lockes G.A.A. Club Rooms, Callan.

Lenten Lunch-Time Talks:

A series of Talks will take place on Mondays during Lent at 1.05p.m in the Chapter House, St. Mary’s Cathedral.

These Talks will be just a short input of about ten minutes and then soup and sandwiches will be provided for all who attend.
