Reflection:
“The Word was made flesh and dwelt among us.” Those words have been part of our daily prayer, our daily conversation with the Lord. When God became man, he put down roots – not just in our physical world, but in humanity itself. He pitched his tent among us and became one of us. It is a connection that cannot be broken – the roots go too deep. This is the mystery we celebrate at Christmas. We are indeed a privileged people.
Prayer of Blessing for the New Year:
May the Lord bless us and keep us.
May the Lord let his face shine on us and be gracious to us.
May the Lord protect us, and give us the gift of peace. Amen.
