Remembrance Masses for November:

Remembrance Mass for the Faithful Departed will be celebrated in Hugginstown Church on Saturday 8th. November at 8.00p.m.

and in Stoneyford Church on Saturday 15th. November at 6.30p.m. All who have lost a family member during the past year will be invited to bring a candle to the alter in remembrance of their loved ones during the Mass; and all are invited to write down the names of their own Departed Ones and place them at the altar for the month of November. They will be remembered at all Masses during November. The Rosary will be recited in Hugginstown Cemetery on Sunday 9th. November at 11.45a.m.

Stoneyford Development Association:

The Field Lights at the Community Centre will be left on between 7.00p.m. and 10.00p.m. on Mondays to Fridays for people who want a safe place to walk or run during the winter.

Kilkenny Older People’s Forum:

Kilkenny Older People’s Forum are holding their General Meeting in Kilkenny Ormonde Hotel on Wednesday November 12th. from 10.30a.m. to 12.30p.m.. Tea/Coffee will be served from 10.00a.m.  All over 50 years are welcome.

Thomas Hayes Trust:

Giving Light and Hope – A Service to Commemorate the lives lost through Suicide.  We are inviting families and friends to come together in solidarity to remember the lives of their friends and loved ones.   Our celebration of Light will include song, music, poetry and reflection. The evening includes the lighting of candles and a minutes silence in the presence of others to remember those who are no longer with us on life’s journey. Join with us on Friday, 14th. November at 7.00p.m, at James Stephens Hurling Club, Larchfield, Kilkenny.  All will then walk together to St. Fiacre’s Church, Loughboy.

Kilkenny Flower Club:

A Gala Demonstration will take place in Springhill Court Hotel on Thursday, 13th. November at 8.00p.m. The demonstrator is Christine Hughes. Always a most enjoyable night. The proceeds of the Gala Demonstration will go to the Irish Motor Neurone Disease Association

Help Protect Your Community!

Thomastown Garda Division are holding an information evening in Danesfort Community Hall on Friday 14th. November at 8.00p.m. There will be a presentation from the Garda on crime prevention in the home and they will discuss how to take measures to help eliminate crime from your property. There will also be a representative from Task Community Care.  He will give a short presentation on “How to Create a Safer Community” he will demonstrate the Carelink Social Monitoring Alarm. Finally there will be a representative from Muintir na Tire which is the National Association for the Promotion of Community Development in Ireland.

Droichead Family Resource Centre, Callan:

Kilkenny Jobs Club will offer a 2 week course in Droichead FRC, Callan. The support on offer will include: CV Preparation, Cover Letters, Job Application, Interview Skills and Job Search. The course will start on November 17th.

English Conversational Classes are available on Monday evenings in Droichead FRC from 7.00p.m. to 9.00p.m. If English is not your first language and you need support in conversation English and basic written then this course maybe for you. For further information: Telephone: 056 775 5660
