The Bord na n-Óg AGM was held on Friday last in Hugginstown Club Rooms. Outgoing Chairman, Ollie Roche, commended all coaches for their work during the past year. There may not have been much silverware to show for their efforts, but there were some encouraging signs.
The minors, with a very young panel, won out the 13-a-side Shield final. Minors, Under-16s and Under-14s put on some very good championship performances, although all bowed out at semi-final stage. Some of the younger teams, in particular Under 10s, are showing great promise. Both Ollie and outgoing Secretary, Kathleen Farrell, were given huge thanks for all their work over the past several years. In particular, Kathleen’s 13 years as secretary was sincerely appreciated by all.
The change of Age Groups to Under 17 (minor), Under 15, 13, 11, etc. was confirmed.
